Overall, the story is goofy and poorly acted, but no worse than other games of its type. With NeoDyne threatening to release an experimental nuclear satellite into the Earth's atmosphere, Keith and Robert must stop NeoDyne and rescue Christy before time runs out. Unfortunately, before they are able to make contact, Christy is kidnapped by NeoDyne guards. At the start of the game, the pair are sent to meet up with Christy Ryan, another agent with incriminating evidence against the mega-corporation, NeoDyne. Time Crisis 2 continues the exceptionally campy story started in the original game, and focuses on two elite agents, Keith Martin and Robert Baxter. Perfect recreation of the arcade classic.Either alone or with a friend, you'll blast your way through waves of baddies, with a plethora of extra modes to keep the fun going. Now, thanks to the wonders of home consoles, players can forego spending all their pocket change on this ultra-tough action experience. Similar to other classic on-rails shooters like Area 51 and House of the Dead, this late-90s arcade title is well-known for taking quarters out of the pocket of every eager gamer around. Backdrops are continuously lacking in colour and disgustingly flat.Time Crisis 2 is a port of the classic arcade light-gun game of the same name. The dip in quality continues with the graphics, with some incredibly drab areas to blast away in. Sadly, the quality is such a major step down from said classic shooter that you’ll tire of these FPS missions almost as soon as you give one a try. If the quality in these sections was up to the standard of say Call of Duty 4, then this wouldn’t be a minus point at all. Meaning that you’re constantly confusing yourself with so many varieties of movement and causing major meltdown within mere minutes of play.
The problem is, while using this method of control to move and look around, you still use the gun to aim your weapon. Using the brand new gun – the orange GunCon3 – you utilise the pair of analogue sticks to manoeuvre around the levels and play a game that’s much like any FPS you care to mention. Yep, for the first time, Time Crisis is totally under your control. The complete mission mode breaks up the standard on-rail levels with some traditional first person shooting.
